Abstract:
This paper presents the concept, design, development, and both simulated and experimental results of a compact, miniaturized laser module intended for a space-borne optical clock. The micro-integrated laser module has overall dimensions of 137 mm × 80 mm × 33 mm (length × width × height). Developed as part of an optical clock payload for deployment on a small satellite, the laser module is designed to withstand the harsh environmental conditions of rocket launch and in-orbit operation without experiencing mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical degradation.
