Top score - FBH positively evaluated and recommended for further funding
In its meeting on March 23, 2015, the Senate of the Leibniz Association recommended the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik (FBH) for further joint funding by the federal and state authorities. This represents the successful completion of the current evaluation process at FBH, conducted by international experts every seven years, which is obligatory for each Leibniz institute.
Günther Tränkle, Director of the FBH, was very pleased about the extraordinary positive rating, according to which the institute belongs to the internationally most renowned competence centers in the field of III-V semiconductor technology. The report acknowledges that the institute has impressively enhanced the already very high performance level. FBH’s work in the field of III-V semiconductor technology is considered to yield excellent and internationally competitive state-of-the-art results with applications and technology transfer of high scientific, social, and economic relevance. "This report positively confirms our concept and our results", explains Günther Tränkle, "and encourages us to further pursue and even expand our ambitions resulting in excellent research and comprehensive transfer activities."
