FBH contributes its expertise in III-V semiconductor processes (GaN HEMTs and InP bipolar transistors) within the "manufacturing" pillar. In cooperation with project partners and industry, the relevant problems are to be identified and corresponding solution approaches developed. These will then be verified based on the semiconductor processes run at FBH.
The project is funded by the German BMBF under ref. 16ME0219.
The overall objective of the Velektronik project is to create a platform for "trustworthy electronics", in order to strengthen technological sovereignty for German industry and the public sector. The project aims to effectively support companies and ensure supply of trustworthy electronics.
Project work is structured into the three pillars design, manufacturing and analysis of the microelectronics value chain. The partners are researching, for example, trustworthy design methods, analysis techniques and suitable small-series manufacturing processes. The envisioned platform focuses on the technological overview, contributions to the necessary standardization, networking between research and industry, and the final know-how. An industry advisory board ensures strong practical relevance and thus guarantees a high degree of industrial relevance and acceptance. The project consortium includes institutes of the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD) and the edacentrum.
