In 2007, the FBH started to develop highly capable, high-brilliance laser modules with hybrid-integrated micro optics and crystals. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) provided funding until 2011 for the InnoProfile junior research group hybrid diode laser systems. As a result, compact diode laser modules have been developed emitting up to 1 W reliable output power in the visible spectral range (red, green, and blue). Since that time, a flexible technology platform for micro mounting and non-linear frequency doubling is available at FBH.
This technology platform is the basis for developments of the subsequently iniatiated InnoProfile transfer initiatves. The group was involed with two projects:
- from June 2012 to May 2015 with the InnoProfile transfer cooperative project FaBriDi: fiber-coupled highly brilliant diode laser
- from 2013 to 2017 with the InnoProfile transfer junior research group YELLOW: hybrid laser light sources for novel analytics applications used in medical technology and biology
