Presseinformation: 29.10.2025

Daniel Kohl was honored with the Humboldt Innovation Award for his master’s thesis. In “Design and Characterization of a Miniaturized Two-Photon Frequency Reference Utilizing Rubidium MEMS Cells,” he has developed an especially compact optical frequency reference system based on rubidium vapor cells implemented in MEMS technology.

His work aims to translate highly precise time and frequency standards into a miniaturized, energy-efficient format, thereby helping to bridge the gap between laboratory-grade accuracy and practical applications.
