A laser light source with many advantages: truncated-tapered semiconductor optical amplifier in MOPA-system

An ongoing challenge for diode lasers is the simultaneous delivery of high output power, narrow, stable spectral widths and diffraction-limited beam quality. Researchers from Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik in Berlin have recently made significant progress in this challenging field.
