As an application-oriented institute of the Leibniz Association, the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut supports technology and knowledge transfer with comprehensive activities. The institute offers a great variety of scientific services to its customers from research and industry. The Science Management Department additionally supports the institute with establishing new cooperations, research of funding, and project management of extensive research projects and networks.
A new instrument, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, is currently being developed and tested - the Prototype Engineering Group.
Recently the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut has established its Prototype Engineering Lab in order to transfer FBH's excellent research results into market-oriented products, processes, and services. This active interface between industry and science provides easier access to state-of-the-art research results for industrial companies by means of functionally-efficient models and prototypes.
The four-member team of engineers transfers research results into practical function models and prototypes. This way, the FBH takes one important step further by advancing research modules to operational units. The institute thus helps companies with state-of-the-art products to prevail in competitive markets.
