Abstract:

Operating at millimeter-wave or above has been the major trend for the next-generation wireless communication systems to acquire enough bandwidth. Consequently, antenna arrays with large number of elements are popular for proper transmission and reception of the signals. In this paper, a Ka-band antenna switch module with polarization switching capability is presented. The module consists of two antennas arranged in the mutually-orthogonal configuration and a single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) switch. Integrated on the same substrate using standard printed-circuit-board (PCB) technology, the module delivered reasonable performance over a frequency range from 30 to 40 GHz.
