FBH-Paper ist Editor’s Choice 2022 des IEEE Photonics Journal

Das IEEE Photonics Journal hat das Paper "60% Efficient Monolithically Wavelength-Stabilized 970-nm DBR Broad-Area Lasers" als Editor’s Choice 2022 ausgewählt. Die Open-Access-Publikation von Paul Crump, M. J. Miah, Martin Wilkens, Jörg Fricke, Hans Wenzel und Andrea Knigge beschreibt die am Ferdinand-Braun-Institut erreichten Fortschritte bei Hochleistungsdiodenlasern.

So begründete die Chefredakteurin Gabriella Cincotti ihre Wahl: "This paper represents several key points critical to PJ. Rapid publication and open access via PJ is well justified, as it represents significant progress in the high-power diode laser field, exploiting progress in device understanding and epitaxial semiconductor growth and device technology to enable step-improved performance, reporting the first devices to deliver more than 20W optical output in a narrow spectral line, while maintaining more than 60% power conversion efficiency.”

Das Paper ist eine erweiterte Fassung eines ausgewählten Post-Deadline-Papers aus der Schlusspräsentation der International Semiconductor Laser Conference 2021 und eröffnet die kürzlich erschienene Sonderausgabe des IEEE Photonics Journals.
