Abstract:

Summary form only given. In this paper, a hybrid integrated master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) emitting at 976 nm is presented. It consists of a distributed feedback (DFB) laser as the master oscillator (MO) and a tapered power-amplifier (PA) mounted on a micro-optical bench. Beam quality and beam propagation ratio are determined, and results show that the optical output power enhance the conversion efficiency for frequency doubling in the visible spectral range. This compact hybrid MOPA opens the fields as light sources for display technology, medicine and sensoric applications.
