Abstract:

We present experimental and theoretical results of a novel finite-aperture tapered unstable resonator laser under pulsed and CW operations. At a current of 16 A an output power of about 10 W is reached. The beam parameter increases from M2 ≈ 10 at P = 1W to M2 ≈ 20 at P = 10 W. Spatial-temporal simulations were performed to elucidate this experimental finding.
