Abstract:
We report on the realization of narrow linewidth high power distributed bragg reflector (DBR) lasers. For devices with a front facet reflectivity Rf = 30% we obtain a minmum intrinsic linewidth of 12 kHz and a total linewidth of 147 kHz at an output power of 130mW (measurement time = 100 µs). For Rf = 1% we report an an intrinsic linewidth of less than 100 kHz and a total linewidth of 1202 kHz at an output power of 1W.
